Japan Vacations and Tours

Many of the tours and cruise shore excursions of Japan are of the world heritage sites.  Visitors can enjoy the diverse natural environment  and a unique climate of four seasons that is on experienced in Japan.  Peabody Travel will soon post tours and vacations to many of the World Heritage sites such as the Atomic Bomb Dome (Hiroshima Peace Memorial), which remind us why keeping peace is so critical to keep a loving world.  While visiting the World Heritage sites, you will find architecture influenced by centuries of Japanese culture, enjoy Japanese hospitality and learn about the Japanese culture.
The World Heritage sites, maybe somewhat similar to the other National Parks, Shiretoko was just registered in 2005, which offers an ecological system that is one of the top areas in the world.  It is considered one of the last, untouched, perfect environments in Japan.  Shiretoko is a mountain range located along a long narrow peninsula located in the Northeastern part of Hokkaido.  The scenery is of the best in wilderness with shore lines boarded with high mountain cliffs, snow topped mountains, waterfalls and colonies of seabirds.  Wildlife include trout, rare birds such as the Blakiston's Fish Owl, Steller's Sea Eagle and the White-Tailed Sea Eagle.  Sightings of brown bares are common as well.  The area has five lakes, based on a lava plateau, the area is surrounded by "old-growth forest."  The fall brings beautiful red and yellow landscape along with large migrations of Salmon.   Shiretoko is the outdoorsman's paradise and especially for those who have never visited Japan, the country Island is a vacation paradise.
Another worth wild World Heritage place to visit is the Shrines and Temples of Nikko, which are the Toshogu and Futaraxan-Jinja shrines and the Rinnoji temple.  Leyasu Tokugawa who ruled from 1603 to 1605 is enshrined here and he was the first Shogun of the Edo Shogunate, which ruled from the 17th to 19th centuries.  Some of the sites worth visiting is the Shinkyo Bridge , which is the gateway to the shrines and temples of Nikko and is known as one of the most beautiful bridges in Japan.  So many World Heritage places exist to visit which include the Shirakami-Sanchi mountain range, the historic villages of Shirakawa-go and Gokayama, the historic monuments of Ancient Nara, the Buddhist monuments if the Horyu-ji area, the monuments of Ancient Kyoto, the sacred sites and pilgrimage routesin the Kii Mountain range, Himeji-jo-Castle, Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine, Gushukuy sites and properties of Ryukyu and Yakushima Island.
